Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Structural Engineer to join project teams delivering world-class designs for a wide range of facilities, including power, healthcare, and government sectors. You will adapt structural plans to budget, design factors, and client needs while collaborating with project teams through design and construction phases.

Responsibilities include designing structures from concept to completion, reviewing drawings, and performing field measurements.

Qualifications

• Requires ABET-accredited degree with 3+ years structural engineering experience or FE with 3+ years experience; master’s degree adds 2+ years.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work analytically.
• Proficient in standard engineering techniques; strong CAD/BIM software knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Review and modify production drawings for diverse facilities (power, healthcare, industrial, govt).
• Design structural components to meet project needs per project manager requirements.
• Utilize structural analysis software (RISA 3D) and CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla).
• Conduct field inspections and support client presentations and contract administration.
