Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in the United States is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead project teams across a range of facilities, from power to healthcare, guiding design through concept to construction while meeting budget and client needs.

You will mentor engineers, review vendor drawings, prepare specifications, and drive QA/QC, safety compliance and timely delivery. A PE license is preferred and travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires degree and 7+ years structural engineering experience; EPC project experience preferred.
• FE exam completion with ABET-credited program; PE license preferred.
• Strong knowledge of structural design codes and software tools.
• Experience leading discipline design for large projects and mentoring others.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design from conceptual phase to design completion.
• Prepare specifications, RFQs, bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
• Review vendor drawings and interface with clients and other disciplines.
• Develop project schedules, scope, budgets, staffing and construction planning.
• Quality review drawings, QA/QC, and construction administration.
• Lead field inspections, measurements, and calculations for clients.
• Prepare technical reports and present to clients and industry.
• Mentor engineers and drive successful project delivery.
