Job summary

Burns & McDonnell seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design teams across a range of facilities including power, healthcare, and industrial projects. You will guide the project from concept through construction, adapting plans to budget, design factors, and client needs.

You will prepare specifications, data sheets, RFQs, and bid summaries, review vendor drawings, and coordinate with disciplines. Strong leadership, communication, and QA/QC are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Structural Engineering or related degree (ABET) with 7 years of structural engineering experience (EPC projects preferred).
• Bachelor Degree in Structural or related Engineering Technology (ABET) with FE and 7 years experience (EPC preferred).
• Master Degree in Structural Engineering with 6 years experience (EPC preferred).
• Expert knowledge of standard engineering techniques and structural design codes (IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE7).
• Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to lead teams and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design from concept to design completion for diverse projects.
• Prepare equipment specs, RFQs, technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
• Review vendor drawings and interface with suppliers, clients and other disciplines.
• Develop project schedules, scope, budgets and staffing; manage change orders.
