Job summary
Burns & McDonnell in Denver seeks a Staff Structural Engineer to lead design across power delivery, pipelines and industrial facilities, guiding projects from concept to completion. You will adapt structural plans to meet budget, design requirements and client needs, applying strong engineering concepts and reviewing CAD drawings across multiple platforms.
The role requires 5+ years of civil/structural experience, ABET‑accredited education, and strong communication.
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited degree in civil/structural engineering.
- FE exam or Masters substitution acceptable for experience.
- 5 years civil engineering experience preferred.
- PE license preferred; strong civil engineering techniques.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural design of projects from conceptual phase through design completion.
- Modify and review production drawings for substations, pipelines, and industrial facilities.
- Design structural components to meet project needs as set by project managers.
- Apply standard civil engineering concepts, codes and procedures.
- Research and compile project data; write specifications and reports.
- Update drawings across CAD applications to reflect corrections.
- Prepare information for client presentations and contract administration.
- Perform field inspections, measurements or calculations for clients.
- All other duties as assigned.
