Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Structural Designer to lead planning, site evaluations, and the preparation of proposal and construction documentation and structural plans as part of a project team.

You will guide 3D modeling and drafting for steel and reinforced concrete, review designs, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with project managers and clients on diverse power-generation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field with significant experience.
• Advanced understanding of Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and Excel.
• Progressive detailing and design experience in structural projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of 3D models and detailed drawings for steel and reinforced concrete structures.
• Quality review 2D drafting and 3D modeling tasks to meet project standards.
• Mentor junior drafters and designers on best practices and company standards.
• Coordinate with project managers and clients across power generation projects.
• Review design drawings within scope, budget and schedule.
• Incorporate budgets and project criteria into structural layouts.
• Train, mentor, and develop staff members in drafting and detailing.
