Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors seeks a Lead Designer to supervise a team of designers and deliver civil/structural deliverables on time and within budget. This role requires extensive experience, capability to act as technical specialist, and oversight under minimal supervision.

You'll mentor junior staff, coordinate with engineers, ensure compliance with AISC/ACI, and contribute to cost estimates and schedules.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of civil/structural drafting and design experience.
• Experience leading design teams and delivering on schedule and budget.
• Proficient with AutoCAD or MicroStation and related CAD standards.
• Ability to develop construction cost estimates and schedules.
• Strong knowledge of AISC and ACI details.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide technical direction for a design team.
• Deliver civil/structural drawings on time and within budget.
• Review calculations, drawings, and specs before design.
• Coordinate with engineers and disciplines for design integration.
• Mentor entry-level designers and provide training.
• Estimate man-hours and assist in cost estimates.
• Ensure compliance with codes and company standards.
• Lead front-end design and complex system layouts.
