Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a Technical Specialist/Lead Designer to provide technical direction for a team of designers in Nederland, TX. You will oversee civil/structural deliverables, ensuring quality, scope, and budget compliance, while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires extensive civil/structural design experience, CAD proficiency, and the ability to work with interdisciplinary teams to resolve design issues and optimize layouts for complex systems.

Qualifications

• Requires 15+ years of relevant industrial experience in civil/structural drafting and design.
• Knowledge of AISC and ACI standard details.
• Ability to produce drawings for concrete and structural steel; civil disciplines.
• Familiarity with CAD drafting standards and specifications.
• Ability to estimate construction cost and project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction over a team of designers as Lead Designer.
• Deliver civil/structural deliverables on time within budget and quality expectations.
• Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines for design development.
• Mentor entry-level teammates and ensure adherence to standards.
• Prepare man-hour estimates and support project planning and cost estimation.
