Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors seeks a senior Lead Designer with extensive civil/structural drafting experience to supervise a team of designers and direct the complete delivery of drawings and specifications. You will ensure on-time project delivery, adherence to budgets, and compliance with codes for complex systems.

Ideal candidate has 20+ years in civil/structural drafting, proficiency with AutoCAD/MicroStation, and strong leadership across disciplines.

Qualifications

Knowledge and application of AISC and ACI standard details.
Ability to produce drawings for concrete and structural steel, and/or civil disciplines.
Familiarity with specifications and installation details of construction bulk materials and equipment.
Knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards.
Ability to create accurate civil/structural construction documents from vendor drawings.
Knowledge of workflow between disciplines.
Knowledge of schedule constraints and information requirements for civil/structural deliverables.
Ability to estimate completion of assigned tasks.
Ability to develop construction cost estimates and man-hour budgets.
Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD or MicroStation).
Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Good communication skills, verbal and written.
Ability to lead teams and deliver on commitments.
Coordinate with disciplines for efficient layouts and space usage.
Lead large groups and represent the c/s department.

Responsibilities

Lead supervision and technical direction for design team, delivering civil/structural work on time and budget.
Draft civil/structural plans under minimal supervision.
Maintain quality and economy of deliverables; mentor junior designers.
Coordinate with discipline leads and other teams on scope and changes.
Provide field support during construction and startup support.
Prepare man-hour estimates and schedules for projects.
Ensure compliance with project specs, tolerances, safety factors, and client requirements.
Lead design reviews and deliver 2D/3D drawings (orthographic and isometric).
