Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors seeks a Lead Designer to supervise and direct a team of designers, delivering civil/structural work on time and within budget. The role requires extensive experience in civil/structural design and involves high-level project controls for cost, schedule, and quality.

The lead will mentor junior staff, coordinate with other disciplines, and ensure designs meet applicable codes and client requirements. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of civil/structural drafting and design experience.
• Proven ability to lead design teams and manage scope, schedule, and budget.
• Experience with AISC and ACI standard details.
• Proficiency in CAD drafting standards and vendor drawings.
• Strong mentoring and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the civil/structural design team to deliver on time and within budget.
• Review and coordinate drawings across disciplines for accuracy.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior drafters.
• Develop man-hour estimates and project staffing plans.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Prepare construction scopes and support during startup.
