Job summary

RK&K is seeking Senior Structural Project Engineers to join our growing team. You will serve as a technical lead in the design and analysis of complex transportation structures, delivering high‑quality bridge design solutions for state DOTs and local municipal clients.

This role may be performed remotely or from one of our office locations. Candidates based in approved U.S. locations are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with emphasis on Structures.
• 8+ years of civil engineering experience focusing on bridge design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience with AASHTO, LRFD, and DOT design manuals.
• Proven QA/QC experience on complex structural designs.
• Experience with state DOTs, municipalities, and county agencies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of bridge structures to meet project objectives and standards.
• Perform and review complex structural analyses using industry software.
• Oversee design drawings, calculations, and construction documents.
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams from inception to completion.
• Coordinate with contractors, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to meet schedules and budgets.
• Ensure QA/QC through review of calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Engage with clients to communicate progress and identify opportunities for value.
