Job summary

RK&K is seeking Structural Project Engineers to join our growing Structures team. You will contribute to the design and analysis of transportation structures, leveraging hands-on bridge-design experience with local DOT and municipal projects, and proactive technical solutions.

This role may be performed remotely or from one of RK&K's office locations. Candidates based in approved U.S. locations are encouraged to apply. Office locations can be found at www.rkk.com/locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of civil engineering experience focused on bridge design.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with emphasis on Structures.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) or able to obtain within 6 months.
• Familiarity with local DOT Standards, AASHTO, LRFD, etc.
• Adhere to QA/QC requirements.
• Experience with DOT, local municipalities and counties.

Responsibilities

• Design bridge structures meeting project requirements and standards.
• Perform structural analyses using industry software.
• Develop detailed design drawings for construction.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on bridge projects from start to finish.
• Coordinate with contractors and regulators to meet schedule and budget.
• Maintain quality and compliance with codes throughout design and construction.
• Review design calculations, drawings, and specs for accuracy and safety.
• Build strong client relationships and communicate progress with innovative solutions.
