Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Senior Structural Project Engineer to lead design and analysis of complex transportation structures, acting as the technical lead for bridge projects with state DOTs and municipal clients.

This role may be performed remotely or from one of our office locations in the United States; candidates based in approved locations are encouraged to apply. You will guide analyses, prepare drawings and calculations, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of civil engineering with a focus on bridge design.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Structures).
• PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience applying AASHTO, LRFD and state DOT design manuals.
• QA/QC oversight on complex structural designs.
• Experience with state DOTs, municipalities, and county agencies.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead bridge structure design to meet objectives and standards.
• Perform and review complex analyses using industry software.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams and oversee project execution.
• Coordinate with contractors, regulators, and stakeholders on schedules and budgets.
• Ensure QA/QC review of calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Provide technical solutions aligned with client needs.
• Engage with clients to discuss progress and identify opportunities.
