RK&K is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our Structures team, focusing on the design and analysis of transportation structures. The role supports local DOT and municipal projects, with the possibility of remote work or office locations.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years in civil/bridge design, a structural engineering degree, and a PE or ability to obtain within 6 months. Proficiency with standards like AASHTO and LRFD is preferred, along with QA/QC discipline.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in civil engineering focused on bridge design and transportation projects
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with emphasis on Structures
• P.E. or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Familiarity with local DOT Standards, AASHTO, LRFD, etc.
• Adhere to QA/QC requirements
• Experience with DOT, municipalities, and counties

Responsibilities

• Design bridge structures meeting project requirements and regulatory standards
• Conduct structural analyses using industry software
• Develop detailed design drawings for construction
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage bridge projects
• Coordinate with contractors and agencies to deliver on time and within budget
• Maintain quality and compliance with codes and standards
• Review design calculations, drawings, and specs for accuracy and safety
• Engage with clients to understand needs and provide innovative solutions
