RK&K is seeking a Senior Structural Project Engineer to lead the design and analysis of complex transportation bridges. The role requires industry-standard expertise, project leadership, and collaboration with state DOTs and municipalities. Remote option is available with approved U.S. locations.

Responsibilities include directing design teams, performing advanced analyses, and ensuring accurate construction documents while maintaining schedule and budget commitments.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on bridge design and transportation structures.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with emphasis on structures.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience with AASHTO, LRFD, and state DOT design manuals.
• Proven QA/QC oversight on complex structural designs.
• Experience working with state DOTs, municipalities, and county agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and analysis of bridge structures to meet project objectives and standards.
• Perform and review complex structural analyses using industry software; develop drawings and calculations.
• Manage or contribute to multidisciplinary project teams from inception to completion.
• Coordinate with contractors, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to maintain schedules and budgets.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures are applied to designs, drawings, and specs.
• Serve as a technical resource, offering innovative solutions and client-facing engagement.
