Job summary
Sargent & Lundy LLC. seeks a lead structural engineer to supervise a team of engineers on projects for nuclear facilities, including upgrades and new builds. You will interface with disciplines, clients, and vendors, guiding design calculations and preparing specifications.
The role offers a hybrid work arrangement from our Knoxville office, with three days in the office and two remote days, and requires an ABET‑accredited MSCE and PE/SE credentials along with 10+ years of relevant experience.
Qualifications
- Essential skills: lead a team of structural engineers and interface with other disciplines and clients.
- Proficiency in design and analysis of industrial/heavy/ nuclear facility structures.
- Familiarity with design codes such as ASCE 4/43/7, AISC, ACI.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a structural engineering team on projects for nuclear facilities and upgrades.
- Guide design calculations, develop specifications, and coordinate drawing development.
- Oversee structural analysis of safety-related structures under seismic and other loading.
- Travel to client/vendor offices or plant sites as needed for reviews and field verification.
