Job summary

Wolfoods is seeking an experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager for a hands-on leadership role at on-site rural summer camps. You will oversee prep and production for a designated day part, supervise staff, and ensure allergen safety across activities.

The position requires ability to live on-site, work a demanding 6-day/70-hour week, and maintain high sanitation standards while delivering quality, scratch-cooked meals for diverse dietary needs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a commercial kitchen leadership role with scratch cooking experience.
• ServSafe Allergens certification required before start date; company-sponsored.
• Strong leadership, cooking, iPad navigation, allergen awareness and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work in hot/cold kitchen settings, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to live on-site in a rustic setting and work a demanding 6‑day/70‑hour week.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train kitchen staff; foster a high-energy, positive environment.
• Oversee operational flow, portion control, menu specs, scratch cooking, and timely meal service.
• Strictly manage food allergy protocols and maintain Health Department sanitation standards.
• Manage inventory and assist with daily reporting.
• Serve as a liaison between kitchen operations, campers, and camp leadership.
