Not Your Average Joe's is seeking a Sous Chef to lead the kitchen and oversee hourly positions, reporting to the Executive Chef. You will ensure consistent execution of quality standards, operating systems, and culture, while guiding a focused, hardworking, team-oriented crew with strong cooking, organization and leadership skills.

This role emphasizes staff development, adherence to procedures, and a positive guest experience, contributing to a dynamic, fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure kitchen is fully and appropriately staffed at all times.
• Interview, train, counsel, and coach staff.
• Ensure training materials, development plans, and schedules are followed.
• Communicate clearly with all team members.
• Maintain a harassment-free environment for all team members.
• Manage and adjust labor on a shift-to-shift basis without compromising guest experience.
• Perform line checks and production in line with NYAJoe's systems and standards.
• Maintain operational excellence to keep the kitchen running efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and guidelines.
• Create a restaurant atmosphere enjoyed by patrons and employees.
• Perform various other duties as needed.
