Job summary

F5 is seeking a leader to manage the Solutions Engineering team within the F5 Tech vertical, focusing on technical sales. You will set objectives, delegate work, and ensure the SE organization is fit for purpose to meet F5 goals.

You will recruit, develop, and coach SE staff, define headcount plans, and drive organizational effectiveness. You will partner with HR for staffing and work with product and marketing to align on roadmap and customer success.

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree required or relevant work experience.
• Experience managing technical SEs in a management role.
• Thorough understanding of networking technologies and applications delivery.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex technologies.
• Self-motivated and able to persuade direct reports and others outside the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels within an organization.

Responsibilities

• Uphold the Business Code of Ethics and report violations.
• Manage the SE team: performance reviews, PTO approvals, delegation, training, and hiring.
• Define FY objectives, strategy and priorities for Engineers for the SE Team.
• Plan headcounts quarterly and yearly to ensure scalability.
• Oversee candidate recruitment in collaboration with HR.
• Ensure effective communication and teamwork within the department and organization.
• Develop SE organization to meet goals, including technical and professional development.
• Maintain an effective SE partner plan (PS, support, Marketing, PM).
• Scale the SE organization to meet objectives and plan retention/recognition/compensation.
• Ensure customer focus: drive product requirements and communicate market trends.
• Coordinate with Sales, PM, and PD on market dynamics and competition.
• Provide product feasibility analysis to support sales efforts.
