Job summary

Kobie is seeking a Manager of Software Engineering to lead one or more Agile squads, delivering scalable platform capabilities and client solutions. You will collaborate with Product Owners, architects, and QA to translate business needs into robust technical designs and oversee end-to-end delivery.

The role requires 8–10 years of development experience with 2+ years in leadership, hands-on expertise in Java/Spring and Angular, and strong knowledge of microservices, Kafka, Docker/Kubernetes,

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of software development experience with 2+ years in engineering leadership
• Proven experience leading Agile development teams delivering production-grade software systems
• Hands-on expertise in modern backend/frontend technologies (Java, Spring, Angular) and testing methodologies
• Strong understanding of modern Java architecture including event-driven design, Kafka, pub/sub, and scalable microservices
• Experience with cloud-based, containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform) and CI/CD
• Familiarity with test automation strategies and tools such as Playwright, Selenium, REST Assured, Postman, SoapUI

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more Agile development squads delivering scalable platform capabilities and client solutions
• Partner with Product Owners and Architects to translate business requirements into technical designs
• Drive end-to-end delivery with focus on quality, speed, and reliability
• Mentor engineers and promote growth and accountability within teams
• Shape modern distributed systems and microservices architectures
• Champion engineering practices: code quality, automation, docs, and operational readiness
• Collaborate with QA/SDET to improve test automation and CI pipelines
• Define and evolve CI/CD strategies for automated deployments
