Job summary

Kobie, a remote-first leader in loyalty technology, is seeking a Manager of Software Engineering. You will lead one or more Agile squads, deliver scalable platform capabilities, and collaborate with Product Owners and architects to translate business needs into robust technical designs.

You will mentor engineers, foster best practices in testing and CI/CD, and guide teams toward high-quality releases while aligning with product and client goals across modern distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of software development experience with 2+ years in engineering leadership or team management.
• Proven experience leading Agile development teams delivering production-grade software systems.
• Hands-on expertise in backend and frontend technologies (e.g., Java, Spring, Angular) and testing methodologies.
• Strong understanding of modern Java architecture including event-driven design, Kafka, pub/sub, and scalable microservices.
• Experience with cloud-based, containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Familiarity with test automation strategies and CI pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more Agile development squads within Software Engineering, delivering scalable platform capabilities and client solutions.
• Partner with Product Owners and architects to translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives with high quality and predictable execution.
• Mentor engineers, provide performance feedback, and support career growth.
• Contribute to design and development of distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Champion engineering best practices including code quality, automated testing, and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with QA, SDET, and cross-functional teams to improve test coverage and quality.
