Job summary

Kobie, a founder in loyalty technology, seeks a Manager of Software Engineering to lead Agile squads and deliver scalable software solutions. You will partner with product owners, architects, and QA to translate business needs into robust designs and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of software development experience, with 2+ years of engineering leadership or team management.
• Proven experience leading Agile development teams delivering production-grade software systems.
• Hands-on expertise in modern backend and frontend technologies (Java, Spring, Angular) and testing methodologies.
• Strong understanding of modern Java architecture including event-driven design, Kafka, pub/sub messaging, and scalable microservices.
• Familiarity with event-driven design and messaging platforms such as Kafka or similar pub/sub systems.
• Experience running production workloads in cloud-based, containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Demonstrated ability to define and evolve CI/CD strategies and infrastructure, enabling automated, secure deployments.
• Knowledge of test automation strategies and frameworks, including CI integration and test-first approaches.

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more Agile development squads delivering scalable platform capabilities and client solutions.
• Partner with Product Owners and Architects to translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives with focus on quality and predictability.
• Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and support career growth.
• Contribute to design and development of modern distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Champion engineering practices: code quality, automated testing, documentation, and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with QA and SDET teams to improve test automation coverage and quality.
• Define and evolve CI/CD strategies and infrastructure for automated deployments.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive environment that accelerates momentum and knowledge sharing.
