Job summary

Kobie, a remote-first loyalty technology leader, is seeking a Manager of Software Engineering to guide multiple Agile squads in building scalable platform capabilities. You will partner with Product Owners, Architects, and QA to translate business needs into robust technical solutions, mentoring engineers and driving modern distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of software development experience, with 2+ years in engineering leadership.
• Proven experience leading Agile development teams delivering production-grade software.
• Hands-on in backend/frontend technologies (e.g., Java, Spring, Angular) and testing.
• Strong understanding of modern Java architecture including event-driven design and Kafka.
• Experience with cloud, containers and tools like Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Demonstrated ability to define and evolve CI/CD strategies and automation.
• Test automation knowledge with Playwright, Selenium, Rest Assured, Postman, SoapUI.
• Strong communication and collaboration across a matrix organization.
• Ability to mentor engineers and drive team accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more Agile development squads delivering scalable platform capabilities and client solutions.
• Translate business requirements into well-designed technical solutions with Product Owners and Architects.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives with predictable execution and high quality.
• Mentor engineers, coaching and improving skills and careers.
• Contribute to design and development of modern distributed systems and microservices.
• Champion engineering practices including code quality, automated testing, and documentation.
• Collaborate with QA and SDET teams to improve test automation coverage.
• Define and evolve CI/CD strategies and infrastructure for automated deployments.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment and align engineering with product goals.
