Job summary

Kobie, a trusted partner delivering loyalty solutions, is seeking a Manager of Software Engineering to lead one or more Agile squads. You will drive scalable platform capabilities, collaborate with Product Owners and Architects, and ensure high-quality deliveries for client implementations.

You will mentor engineers, promote best practices, and help build modern distributed systems using Java, Spring, Angular, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform across a remote-first team.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of software development experience with 2+ years of engineering leadership or team management.
• Proven experience leading Agile development teams delivering production-grade software systems.
• Hands-on expertise in Java-based backend and frontend technologies such as Java, Spring, Angular, and testing methodologies.
• Strong understanding of modern Java architecture including event-driven design, Kafka, pub/sub patterns, and scalable microservices.
• Familiarity with event-driven design and messaging platforms such as Kafka or similar pub/sub systems.
• Experience running production workloads in cloud-based, containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Demonstrated ability to define and evolve CI/CD strategies and infrastructure for automated, secure deployments.
• Knowledge of test automation strategies and frameworks, including Playwright, Selenium, Rest Assured, Postman, SoapUI, or similar, preferably with BDD.

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more Agile development squads delivering scalable platform capabilities and client solutions.
• Partner with Product Owners and Architects to translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives with predictable execution and high quality.
• Mentor and support engineers, fostering growth and career development.
• Contribute to design and development of distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Champion engineering practices, code quality, automated testing, documentation, and readiness for operations.
• Collaborate with QA and SDET teams to improve test automation and quality engineering practices.
• Define and evolve CI/CD strategies and infrastructure for automated deployments.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment and drive momentum across squads.
