Ladders is seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Technical Track to join a client leading in the aerospace & defense sector. This remote role is US-based, with no visa sponsorship available, and focuses on building full-stack systems for safety research and advanced initiatives.

You will shape architecture, guide data model evolution, and ensure engineering practices scale as the organization grows. This is a senior position with mentorship responsibilities and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent; Master’s preferred.
• 8+ years of software development experience with focus on platform security.
• Proficiency in React and Python; strong SDLC understanding.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Technical Track to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space.

This role will lead the development of full-stack software systems that support safety-focused research and advanced technical initiatives. The position will shape architecture, guide service and data model evolution, and help ensure engineering practices remain consistent and effective as the organization grows. It is well suited for a senior engineer who enjoys solving ambiguous problems, setting technical direction, and partnering across teams to deliver robust software outcomes.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $131,186 – $180,381 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of full-stack software systems for safety research
• Implement service boundaries and support data model evolution for integration
• Set technical direction and align architecture with research priorities
• Design complex systems in ambiguous environments
• Ensure consistency in engineering practices and AI-assisted engineering standards
