Senior Software Engineer – Internal AI Tools Lead

Los Angeles, Washington DC, or Seattle | Hybrid

A high-growth defense and space technology organisation is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to lead the build-out of its Internal AI Tools function.

This is not a typical product engineering role. You will design and scale the internal systems that power the entire business, from Finance and HR to Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Business Development.

If you enjoy building high-leverage systems that remove manual work and directly impact operational performance, this role offers genuine business-wide ownership.

The Opportunity

You will join a lean internal tools team responsible for:

• Designing and building full-stack internal platforms
• Creating AI-powered workflow automation
• Developing internal copilots and business systems
• Integrating across ERP, CRM, HRIS, and operational systems
• Leading small teams while remaining hands‑on

This position has visible impact across the organisation and directly influences operational efficiency and execution quality.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Architecting and building production‑grade internal software
• Designing workflow engines, dashboards, and internal platforms
• Working cross‑functionally with Finance, HR, IT, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and BD
• Mentoring engineers in a hybrid environment

Working Model
