Job summary

Waste Pro is seeking a Residential Route Supervisor to oversee daily service delivery for residential customers, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective operations. The role requires directing drivers, enforcing safety, and coordinating routes while maintaining strong communication with customers and the yard.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in transportation/logistics or waste operations, plus leadership experience. CDL may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in the transportation, management, logistics or waste industry; or
• Associate's Degree or minimum of 2 years experience in transportation, logistics, or solid waste operations in which coaching, routing assessments and supervising employees are requirements of the role.
• Knowledge and prior application of Smith System and/or Decision Driving principles and techniques

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible for the supervision of drivers and performance of daily operations.
• Establish and maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Share Decision Driving techniques and ensure safety guidelines are followed; lead weekly safety meetings.
• Route all new service starts; review productivity reports and optimize routes to minimize labor costs.
• Respond to dispatch and customer issues; communicate service requirements to drivers.
• Monitor route observations and ensure safety procedures; identify training needs with drivers.
• Monitor driver pre-trip inspections and repair issues; coordinate with shop.
• Ensure DOT hours of service compliance and accurate disposal tickets.
• Complete accident and injury reports and respond to investigations.
• Train and orient new employees; conduct performance evaluations.
• Cover shortages by driving on routes as needed.
