Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Renewable Energy Electrical Engineering Lead to drive design and leadership for multi-site solar and energy storage projects from Buffalo, NY and beyond. You will guide DC/LV/MV systems, protection and control, and ensure NEC/IEEE/NESC compliance.

The role requires a PE or near-term licensure, 7+ years in renewables, and strong client-facing communication. Location flexibility includes NY, IL, CO, TX and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer license or obtainable within 1 year.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical interconnection design.
• Experience with electrical infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
• Experience in renewable energy design in utility/industrial scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for small- to mid-scale renewable projects.
• Develop and review plans, calculations, and drawings.
• Coordinate with teams and clients across multiple sites.
• Prepare technical reports and design documentation.
• Ensure QA/QC adherence and safety standards.
