WSP is seeking a Renewable Energy Electrical Engineering Lead for our Buffalo, NY office. The following locations will also be considered: New York NY, Chicago IL, Boulder, CO and Austin, TX.

This opportunity involves being part of our vastly experienced and knowledgeable Onshore Renewable Energy team in the US. You will provide project leadership, design, and technical guidance for solar PV, BESS and PV+BESS projects, overseeing electrical design, protection, and interconnection studies from

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 7+ years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer in renewable energy projects.
• Professional Engineer license or eligible within 1 year.
• Strong knowledge of electrical interconnection design and NEC/IEEE/NESC standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for solar, BESS, and PV+BESS projects across multiple sites.
• Oversee protection & control systems, LV/MV design, and interconnection studies.
• Coordinate with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants and clients.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and drawings to QA/QC standards.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and provide guidance on design and systems.
