WSP USA, a leading engineering firm, seeks a Renewable Energy Electrical Engineering Lead for our Buffalo, NY office with consideration for NY, IL, CO, and TX locations. The role involves guiding due diligence, design, permitting, and construction of distributed generation renewable energy projects across multiple sites.

The candidate will provide senior technical leadership, develop electrical models, and oversee team performance from concept through construction, ensuring safety and standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience as an electrical engineer on renewable energy projects.
• Professional Engineer license or obtainable within 1 year.
• Proficient with electrical engineering principles, design, and permitting.
• Experience with interconnection design and protection/controls.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, PVcase/PVFarm, Cymcap, ETAP, WinGIS, SEL acSELerator.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews and ensure code-compliant electrical infrastructure.
• Coordinate electrical plans for multi-site projects and permits.
• Develop and review plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Oversee cross-functional teams and manage budgets, hours, and resources.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
