Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Sr. Relay Technician to lead protection and control system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting for substation and industrial facilities across North America.

You will manage field teams, coordinate projects, and ensure safe, reliable operation while interacting with customers and stakeholders. Strong emphasis on mentoring junior staff and delivering comprehensive reports.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in transmission, generation, or distribution substations.
• Capable of trouble shooting distribution and transmission control circuits.
• Knowledge of relay test software.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen due to safety-sensitive position.
• Criminal background check required.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Lead job site safety briefings and enforce safety policies across field activities.
• Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and other components across transmission, distribution, and industrial systems.
• Perform installation, commissioning, testing, and functional testing of substation control circuits on relay panels and breakers.
• Execute advanced end-to-end and functional testing using relay test equipment and software.
• Read, interpret, and validate protection and control schematics and configurations.
• Develop project execution plans, outage sequences, and energization plans.
