Job summary
Electrical Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Sr. Relay Technician to lead protection and control system testing and commissioning on substation projects. You will analyze protection schemes, manage complex field tasks, and guide teams to ensure safe, reliable operation of power systems.
The role emphasizes customer interaction, project leadership, and technical mentorship for Relay Tech I–II and junior engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or associate degree in electrical/electronic tech or engineering preferred.
- 5+ years of industry experience.
- NETA I II/IV certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead safety briefings and enforce safety policies on job sites.
- Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and substations.
- Perform installation, commissioning, testing, and functional testing of relay panels.
- Read and validate protection schematics and system configurations.
- Coordinate resources and field activities for large-scale projects.
- Develop test reports, relay settings verification, and commissioning documentation.
- Interface with customers and stakeholders to communicate status and expectations.
