Job summary

Essex Property Trust in Pleasanton, California, is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to maintain a 400+ unit community and support the Maintenance Supervisor in achieving operational goals.

You will perform complex repairs, lead junior technicians, manage work orders and inventory, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure high-quality living environments. Benefits include comprehensive medical/dental/vision, 401k, and housing discounts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years in property maintenance.
• HVAC and/or CPO certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate on-site golf carts.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex repairs and maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and other essential building equipment.
• Lead and mentor junior maintenance technicians and guide project work.
• Develop preventive maintenance plans and conduct regular inspections.
• Address resident maintenance requests professionally and promptly.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies as part of on-call rotation.
• Ensure safety compliance and maintain records in SightPlan.
• Collaborate with supervisors and managers to prioritize tasks and manage inventory.
