Job summary

Essex-Property-Trust in Pleasanton, CA, seeks a Senior Maintenance Technician to maintain the property's physical integrity and support the Maintenance Supervisor. You will perform complex repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and lead junior technicians while ensuring safety standards and high resident satisfaction.

You will manage work orders, unit turnovers, and participate in after-hours on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years property maintenance, facility management, or related field.
• HVAC and/or CPO certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex repairs and maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and other building equipment.
• Lead and mentor junior maintenance technicians and assist with training.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans; conduct regular inspections.
• Manage work orders and unit turnovers; participate in on-call rotation.
• Deliver high-quality resident service and promptly address maintenance requests.
• Coordinate with team and vendors for timely resolutions; ensure safety compliance.
