Job summary

Essex Property Trust, Inc. seeks a Senior Maintenance Technician for our Tiburon community to ensure high-quality living environments across 400+ units. You will perform complex repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, manage turnovers, and support the Maintenance Supervisor.

This role requires on-site work five days a week and participation in the on-call rotation. You will lead junior technicians, develop preventive maintenance plans, and maintain accurate records while delivering

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 2+ years in property maintenance or related field.
• HVAC and/or CPO certification preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair.
• Familiarity with environmental hazards such as asbestos, lead, mold, and radon in residential housing.
• Proficient with smart devices and property management software.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex repairs and maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and essential building equipment.
• Lead and mentor junior maintenance technicians; guide teams on projects.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans; conduct inspections.
• Deliver exceptional resident service; address maintenance requests promptly.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies; participate in on-call rotation.
• Ensure safety compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Assist in managing inventory and supplies; propose purchases for specialized equipment.
• Maintain accurate records in SightPlan; provide progress reports to leadership.
