Essex Property Trust is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician for a 400+ unit community in California. You will perform complex repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and related equipment, mentor junior staff, and implement preventive maintenance plans while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will respond to after-hours emergencies, manage inventory, and collaborate with supervisors and managers to prioritize tasks, maintain open communication, and deliver exceptional

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2+ years in property maintenance or related field.
• HVAC and/or CPO certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required for on-site operations using golf carts.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair.
• Proficient with smart devices, Microsoft Office, and PM software.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and other building equipment.
• Lead and mentor junior maintenance technicians and project teams.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans and inspections.
• Deliver timely resident service and resolve maintenance requests promptly.
