Job summary

Mark43 is seeking a seasoned Lead Product Designer to own a key product area, guiding discovery to delivery in collaboration with Product and Engineering. You will shape how first responders interact with dispatch, records, analytics, and mobile tools, driving craft, systems thinking, and design leadership across our portfolio.

You will work with cross-functional teams in a remote-friendly environment, with offices in New York, Boston, and Manchester.

Qualifications

10+ years of professional product design experience with shipped software products.
5+ years designing complex enterprise SaaS products or sophisticated systems.
Track record of leading design for a substantial product area from discovery to shipped outcomes.
Strong product judgment balancing user needs, business priorities, and technical constraints.
Deep experience with qualitative and quantitative research to inform decisions.
Experience partnering with Product and Engineering leaders without formal authority.
Excellent interaction and visual design skills with high craftsmanship.
Ability to communicate complex design decisions clearly to stakeholders and senior leadership.
Comfort operating in fast-moving environments with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

Set the design direction for a critical product area and create a clear vision for the experience.
Lead a complex initiative from discovery through delivery, turning insights into a compelling product solution.
Balance user needs, technical constraints, and business priorities while advocating for strong customer experience.
Collaborate with first responders and public safety agencies to translate workflows into intuitive, reliable experiences.
Design across environments and devices, ensuring cohesive interactions across an ecosystem.
Elevate design quality, contribute to design systems, and mentor other designers.
Present product visions or design recommendations to customers and senior leaders, articulating tradeoffs.
Explore AI and emerging technologies to improve public safety workflows and responsible AI-powered experiences.
Delve into details from refined interactions in Figma to implementation reviews with engineering.
