Job summary

Step is seeking an experienced product designer to own the design and UX strategy for our core banking platform. You will lead design on features across mobile apps and web, collaborating with product and engineering to shape growth and strategy. A portfolio showcasing consumer fintech work is essential.

You will mentor other designers, drive design decisions, and contribute to scalable design systems, with a remote-first, fast-moving culture that values urgency and customer obsession.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in design or a related field.
• Portfolio demonstrating design work for consumer products.
• Experience in fintech or banking products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design high quality interactive experiences across mobile and web (iOS/Android and web).
• Lead projects through the full design process from concept to release.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to define strategy and roadmaps.
• Provide direction to other designers and raise team quality.
• Evaluate processes and implement improvements to scale design efforts.
• Contribute to and leverage the Step Design System.
