Job summary

Thomson Reuters in Eagan, Minnesota seeks a 1st Shift Subscription Services Operator to review job specs, set up tasks, monitor equipment, and troubleshoot within the Core Print Solutions team.

Role requires hands-on leadership, mechanical/technical skills, and Lean/CI experience in an industrial setting. 6:30 AM–2:30 PM shift with overtime; includes a $2,500 sign-on bonus after 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or higher.
• Experience leading and training others.
• Experience in an industrial setting with production machinery.
• Strong mechanical and technical skills with troubleshooting ability.
• Experience with Lean and continuous improvement.
• Competent with rulers and measurement tools.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to run multiple pieces of equipment.
• Experience on perfect binders with up to 40-station collators, 3-knife trimmers, inline boxing, and palletizing.
• Experience with binding lines and packaging lines including Sitma, Aster, hot foil stampers.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and production orders.

Responsibilities

• Review job specifications for material and setup requirements.
• Perform or delegate setup tasks and oversee them.
• Monitor equipment and product to ensure high quality.
• Troubleshoot moderately complex product or equipment issues.
• Communicate effectively during the shift and hand-off.
• Evaluate equipment condition and participate in preventative maintenance.
• Use computer-based workflows to manage files.
• Document activities in Tier Boards and SAP/MII systems.
• Tag loads to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Provide work direction to crew and others in the workstream.
• Participate in safety programs and promote a safe culture.
• Support training as needed.
• Meet quality and productivity standards using standard work procedures.
• Suggest and implement process improvements.
