Job summary

Thomson Reuters in Eagan, Minnesota is hiring an experienced Lead/#1 Press Operator for the Core Publishing Solutions team. You will lead the production line, operate state-of-the-art offset and digital presses, and manage crew performance on 2nd shift with potential overtime.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on mechanical skills, and experience with lean processes. A signing bonus of $2,500 is offered after 90 days on the role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or higher required.
• Experience leading and training others.
• Experience in industrial settings with production machinery.
• Strong mechanical/technical skills and troubleshooting ability.
• Experience with Lean and continuous improvement.
• Good communication across shifts and departments.
• Proven trainer track record.
• Ability to run multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously.
• Experience on 1-2 color web offset presses and 4-color sheetfed presses.
• Competent with rulers and measurement techniques.
• Ability to read and explain safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and production orders.
• Capable of lifting at least 5 lbs above shoulder and up to 50 lbs.
• Regular standing, walking, crouching, bending, reaching and kneeling.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, and training to crew to optimize performance.
• Ensure the production line runs smoothly and quality products are produced; lead Tier 1 meetings and Gemba Walks.
• Train temps and staff from other areas to support workload.
• Motivate team members and foster a collaborative environment.
