Job summary

Arcadis U.S. Inc. seeks a Sr. Power System Planning & Study Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in the USA. The role coordinates the Power System Planning & Study group and/or conducts HVAC/HVDC planning, interconnection, and transient studies for North American clients and beyond.

You will work closely with Substation, Transmission, Protection & Control, and Renewables teams, delivering studies, reports, and client-ready deliverables with QA oversight. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
• 8+ years direct experience in power system study analysis and planning.
• Proficient with PSS/E, PSCAD; experience with PSLF, DigSILENT, DSA Tools.
• Familiar with NA Market Operators (MISO, PJM, NE-ISO, NY-ISO, CAISO, ERCOT, SSP, AESO, IESO) policies and interconnection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support, develop, and deliver complex power system study & planning projects for various clients.
• Perform and review power systems analysis: load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, electromagnetic transient, small-signal stability, etc.
• Plan/system performance studies to meet standards and good engineering practice.
• Deliver accurate planning, studies, system design, and client deliverables meeting industry standards.
• QA client reports and deliverables.
• Coordinate with Arcadis units for cross-selling and cross-staffing opportunities.
