Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Sr. Power System Planning & Study Engineer to lead and develop the Power Delivery study team in North America. The role focuses on HVAC/HVDC planning studies, interconnection analyses, and system investigations with collaboration across Arcadis divisions.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in power system studies, strong PSS/E/PSCAD skills, and deep knowledge of NA market operators. Travel up to 25% is possible, with a commitment to delivering high-quality client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of direct experience in power system study analysis and planning.
• Proficiency with PSS/E, PSCAD, and PSS/E for load-flow, short-circuit, and transient stability analyses; experience with PSLF, DigSILENT, TARA, or DSA Tools is desirable.
• Familiarity with NA Market Operators policies (MISO, PJM, NE-ISO, NY-ISO, CAISO, ERCOT, SSP, AESO, IESO) and grid interconnection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support, develop, and deliver complex power system study and planning projects for various clients.
• Perform load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, electromagnetic transient, and other analyses.
• Conduct planning/system performance and transient studies for compliance with standards and good engineering practice.
• Deliver accurate study reports and client deliverables with QA on reports.
• Coordinate with Arcadis units for cross-selling and staffing opportunities.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
