Job summary

Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems (EESS) in Raleigh, NC seeks a Power Systems Controls Engineer to develop, test, and deploy PLC and HMI software for power transfer applications. This is a hybrid role with about 35% onsite work.

Responsibilities include BOM creation, customer submittals, and field start-ups; collaboration with Electrical Designers is essential. Degree in engineering with extensive power distribution experience is required; PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 7+ years’ power distribution controls experience.
• Master’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years’ power distribution controls experience.
• PE License preferred; knowledge of power monitoring and control systems (Modbus, DNP3, IEC-61850).

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, test, and deploy PLC/HMI software for power transfer applications.
• Follow customer and internal specifications for project implementation.
• Select components and create bill of materials.
• Provide sketches and direction to Electrical Designers for drawings.
• Prepare submittals, Sequence of Operation, and test procedures.
• Assist with factory testing and field start-ups; troubleshoot issues.
