Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol Corporation, seeks a Senior Power Systems Architect in California. This customer-facing role focuses on system-level power architecture and interconnect engineering, coordinating with partners to drive solutions and design wins.

You will own requirements, translate architectures into specs, mentor engineers, and influence roadmaps while traveling to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.
• Bachelor's degree with 5–8 years in power connector or systems engineering.
• Master's degree with 3–6 years in power connector or systems engineering.
• Experience translating system-level requirements into connector/cable specs.
• Willingness to travel to customer/manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities

• Independently own technical requirements-gathering with customer teams for power architecture.
• Translate system power architecture into connector/cable requirements for development.
• Lead power discussions with customers, presenting options and roadmaps.
• Partner with engineering and R&D to shape roadmap decisions.
• Develop and own technical requirement documents and specs.
• Lead qualification, validation, and design-in activities at customer sites.
• Track and contribute to industry standards (e.g., OCP).
• Deliver customer and market insight to internal roadmaps.
