Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Power Systems Architect to drive system-level power architecture and translate requirements into connector and cable solutions for hyperscalers and data centers.

You will own customer engagements, lead architecture discussions, and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and R&D to shape product roadmaps while mentoring engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 5–8 years (Bachelor) or 3–6 years (Master) in power connector or systems engineering.
• Experience translating system-level power requirements to connector/cable specs.
• Knowledge of high-voltage/high-current interconnect design for data centers.
• Proven ability to manage customer technical relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for direct customer engagement.
• Willingness to travel to customer and manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical requirements-gathering relationship with customer engineering teams for power architecture.
• Translate system-level power architecture into connector/cable requirements to define product development.
• Lead power architecture discussions with customer teams, presenting options and roadmap alignment.
• Partner with product engineering, manufacturing, and R&D to shape roadmap decisions.
• Develop and own technical requirement documents and specification inputs.
• Lead design-in activities for new power interconnect solutions at customer sites.
• Track and contribute to relevant standards (e.g., OCP) shaping roadmaps.
• Deliver voice of customer to internal roadmap and product development.
• Mentor Associate Engineers and review their outputs.
• Identify architecture shifts early to influence internal roadmap planning.
