Job summary
CesiumAstro is hiring a senior power electronics engineer to lead the design of high-power DC-DC and AC-DC converters for space, airborne, and terrestrial platforms. You will craft power architectures, drive hardware-in-the-loop tests, and guide a small team through design verification and production releases.
You will apply deep expertise in control theory, thermal management, EMI/EMC, and reliability to deliver robust power systems for advanced antenna and satellite projects in a fast-paced,
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering or higher from an accredited university.
- 8+ years in analog and power electronics design.
- Experience with power architectures, SWAP-C trade studies, and power management blocks.
- Experience designing off-line AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies for industrial/military systems.
- Knowledge of control loops, stability, and EMI/EMC considerations.
- Hands-on testing with lab instruments (oscilloscopes, analyzers, loads).
- Experience with SPICE-based tools and system-level simulation.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of power system architectures and derive requirements.
- Design DC-DC converters, supplies, and distribution up to 20 kW.
- Design AC-DC power supplies and power distribution networks.
- Perform WCA, stress analysis, FMEA, reliability analysis for power supplies.
- Develop verification test plans and qualification/test campaigns.
- Lead board bring-up and design verification testing.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead a small power electronics team.
