Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join our spacecraft payload development team. You will lead the design of power system architectures, perform trade studies, and drive verification from definition through production release for satellite power electronics.

You will model, simulate, and test DC-DC converters, power management, and control loops, ensuring reliability, EMC, and high performance in space environments. Collaboration across engineering teams is essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 5 years designing analog and power electronics.
• Experience with power architecture and SWAP-C trade studies.
• Experience with DC-DC converter topologies (buck, boost, buck-boost, flyback, forward).
• Voltage-mode / peak current-mode control modeling for DC-DC converters.
• Power filters design for low-noise outputs and EMC.
• Experience with design verification plans and production acceptance tests.
• Hands-on testing with lab instruments and PCB troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Define power system architecture and derive subsystem requirements.
• Design DC-DC converters and power conditioning circuits end-to-end.
• Perform detailed analog and power electronics designs from concept to production release.
• Model and analyze circuits including FMEA and reliability.
• Develop verification and qualification test plans and production acceptance tests.
• Lead board bring-up and verification testing.
• Mentor engineers and drive knowledge sharing.
• Research and monitor power electronics trends to drive innovation.
