Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Staff Power Electronics Engineer to lead design, development, integration, and verification of power conversion hardware for complex space and airborne platforms.

You will work across electrical, systems, mechanical, FPGA, software, manufacturing, and test teams to optimize efficiency, reliability, and mission success while mentoring engineers and advancing engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Advanced application of power electronics engineering principles and systems.
• Experience developing complex power conversion architectures and subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Develop power conversion architectures and subsystems for multiple programs.
• Evaluate efficiency, thermal management, magnets, switching topologies, and components.
• Lead analyses, design reviews, and technical evaluations to resolve issues.
• Oversee integration, lab testing, bring-up, troubleshooting, verification, and qualification.
• Assess electrical performance, efficiency, and reliability; address risks.
• Guide verification planning, testing, and design validation across programs.
• Serve as a primary technical resource for power electronics across development efforts.
• Provide guidance through design reviews and technical discussions.
• Mentor engineers and support continuous improvement in practices.
• Advance verification methodologies and configuration management across programs.
• Identify opportunities to improve methods and processes in development.
• Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, reliability, manufacturability, and quality.
