Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to lead end-to-end development of power converters and power management systems for space and aerospace applications. You will drive concept through production, performing detailed schematic and PCB layouts, analysis, testing, and qualification to deliver high‑reliability power solutions.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or higher.
• 5+ years in board-level power electronics design, analysis and test.
• Experience owning design phase of power electronics or subsystems including architecture and requirements.
• Experience with complex PCB layout for analog and power electronics.
• Proficiency with analysis/simulation tools (SPICE, LTSPICE, SIMetrix, PLECS, Simulink, MATLAB).
• Strong lab testing and troubleshooting skills for prototyping, verification and qualification.
• Experience in high-reliability electronics for automotive, space or defense.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design of power converters and power management circuits from concept to production support.
• Perform schematic design for various power electronics designs, including multi-output modules.
• Layout PCB in Altium Designer; collaborate with a PCB Drafter as needed.
• Model and analyze analog and power electronics for worst-case, stability, and efficiency.
• Create verification plans, requirements matrices, and test campaigns for power designs.
• Lead system integration and qualification campaigns with multi-discipline teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay updated on power electronics trends.
