Job summary

Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems division seeks a Lead Power Distribution Controls Engineer to lead design, programming, startup, and optimization of automated power systems. You will mentor engineers, manage projects, and ensure on-time delivery across multiple locations with travel.

The role emphasizes PLC programming, protection relays, and human-machine interfaces for critical infrastructure. A company vehicle is provided and travel up to 35% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution; 7+ years in power distribution controls, or Master’s degree with 5+ years, or 10+ years in the field.
• Driver’s license required with a clean MVR; background check at hire.
• Preferred PE License or higher credentials help.
• Knowledge of power monitoring and control systems and related protocols is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, test, and deploy PLCs, data concentrators, protection relays, generator controllers, and HMIs for automatic transfer applications.
• Follow customer and internal specifications for project implementation.
• Select components and prepare BOMs; provide sketches and direction to designers.
