Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems division is seeking a Senior Power Systems Controls Engineer to lead the design, programming, installation, startup, maintenance, and optimization of automated control and power management systems for critical infrastructure. The role involves creating, modifying, testing, and deploying software for PLCs, data concentrators, protection relays, and HMI interfaces for automatic transfer schemes.

Hybrid role with ~50% travel in the Central U.S.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 3+ years PLC programming and power distribution controls experience, or 5+ years in power distribution.
Valid driver’s license and eligible for motor vehicle record checks; no relocation; reside within 50 miles of Glendale Heights, IL.

Responsibilities

Create, modify, test, and deploy PLC, data concentrators, multi-function protection relays, breaker control schemes, generator controllers, and HMI software for automatic power transfer applications.
Quote turnkey control schemes by analyzing specifications, pricing labor/materials, and drafting scope of work.
Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required.
Troubleshoot systems onsite and remotely.
Select components and create bill of materials; provide sketches and direction to Electrical Designers.
